The only difference between the two versions, is that the "en prison" rule is introduced in VIP European Roulette (also called the "la partage" rule). According to this rule, you will receive half of your bet back if you lose an even-money bet (like Red/Black, Odd/Even, High/Low) and the ball lands on the single zero.

As a result the house edge on even-money bets in VIP European roulette is only 1.35%, compared to 2.70% in standard European roulette. This makes VIP European roulette one of the best roulette games to play.
